Gasthuisstraat 3

6981 CP, Doesburg (Gelderland)

a special property, at a beautiful point in the center of doesburg!

this national monument, located on a corner, dates from around 1515 and has a distant history, of course, many details of this have remained in honor. these include a 16th-century wooden spiral staircase in the polygonal stair tower at the rear house, the empire windows in the plastered front facade and in the garden a cellar and remains of a medieval wall work have been found. a late medieval cross window and two cloister windows were preserved in the rear facade.

over the years, this property has been respectfully renovated in style while maintaining its unique atmosphere and authentic details. the generous (living) area in each room makes it suitable for various compositions. the property has a residential / retail destination which gives you the opportunity to combine living and working in this pleasant place. a private practice or studio is also among the possibilities, the front house on the first floor is now in use as a studio.

the hanseatic city doesburg is located along the old and gelderse ijssel and has many historical riches and attractions. doesburg has a particularly beautiful center where gasthuisstraat 3 is located between “de waag” and the gasthuiskerk. from the spacious backyard you overlook the “martinikerk” where you can enjoy the beautiful carillon from the garden. a fun fact; the martinikerk has the highest church tower in gelderland.

the back house is now furnished as the living area and is accessible through the inside. from the bedroom there is a passage. so you have access to all rooms from the inside!

the whole radiates a very special atmosphere to the gasthuisstraat 3 (the two salmen, anno 1525) what actually with no pen to describe, therefore, this unique specimen is definitely worth a visit!

layout:

through the front entrance you first enter a hall with glass wall, which gives you access to the spacious studio. due to the presence of the large empire windows at the front and additional windows on the side wall, you have a good light here. the partition between the studio and the kitchen has a beautiful bookcase to the ceiling. there is a private toilet in the studio. there is a large room under the stairs with a pantry. from the studio there is a staircase to the 1st floor which is now used as storage. here are easy to create rooms should you wish. above is a spacious 2nd floor, now partly used as storage space. there is an intermediate room with an adjoining bathroom. the bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. in the intermediate chamber are also both central heating boilers. here are several skylights. this floor is also accessible via a staircase.

in the spacious kitchen there is room for the dining table. here is also the meter cupboard, which is expanded with groups for both the store and the house. also here are some fixed cupboards. from the kitchen you walk into the spacious living room with fireplace and access to the garden. through the wooden spiral staircase in the tower you reach the 1st floor. here is the spacious master bedroom with the internal nut beams with gothic pear key pieces. adjacent is the spacious bathroom equipped with a shower corner, bathtub and a double sink. next to the bathroom is a 3rd toilet and a narrow door has been created here to create a passage to the front house.

first you enter a hallway which is used as a darkroom, then you come to the 1st and 2nd floor above the front house. these generous spaces can be arranged entirely as desired.

garden:

there is a lush garden with several terraces. from the garden there is a view of the martini church where, among other things, you can enjoy the beautiful carillon. in the garden is a glass light which gives a view to the old vaults with a medieval wall work next to it.
there is a (shared) driveway / path to the backyard where there is also a large barn. this is now used as a barn/storage space and also has a small studio with lots of glass. there is also a toilet with fountain. also here are different infills imaginable.
